1. Children Are God’s Precious Gift
Children are a blessing from God, a gift from Him. How should your children be around you? They should be like olive trees. What is your responsibility toward your children? As a mother or father, what is your role?
It is not enough to have children; you need to raise them properly. They should not become rebels in society but should become good and upright members. Their lives should be a blessing.
May they bring a good name to their family, and may their parents gain a good reputation. Families should earn respect, and children should grow under God’s grace and enjoy favor with both God and people. We should raise children with wisdom and care as they grow.
The main reason children go astray is that they are not raised properly. Children often turn out according to the way they are raised. Even if you fail to guide them wisely, God is still there.
None of the children God has given should be lost. Every child is precious in His eyes. Jesus took children into
His care, blessed them, and showed their value. Children are a great gift to families, and we must help them grow on the right path.
Children are not merely possessions; they are God’s treasures. Raising them is not a burden; it is a sacred responsibility entrusted to us by God.
2. Prayer: The Greatest Investment for Your Children
If you ask me, what is the best investment we can give our children? It is not property, houses, land, or money in the bank. Prayer is the greatest investment you can give your children.
The prayers you offer and the sacrifices you make are precious before God. When you wake up early, give your time, and come into God’s presence on behalf of your children and family, God sees every action, every effort, every struggle, and every act of devotion.
God listens to prayers. He sees your hope. Just as God heard the cry of Hagar for her child, He hears the cry of mothers and fathers who pray for their children. Everything God promises will come to pass. Therefore, do not underestimate the power of prayer.
If you have not invested in prayer for your children until now, start today. Pray and cry out for them. Gather as families, pray for one another, and mention your children by name before God. It is never too late to turn back to Him.
The responsibility of praying for our children never ends. Until your last breath, you have the responsibility to pray for them. You cannot say, “My work is finished; my children are settled.” At every stage of life, they need guidance, prayer, and encouragement.
3. Teaching Children the Fear of the Lord
Fasting and prayer bring us closer to God. When prayer becomes a habit, miracles become part of life.
Teach your children the fear of God, because “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” But first, parents themselves must have that fear and reverence for God. Children learn from what they see in their parents.
Faith is passed from one generation to another. The faith of one generation can become the faith of the next. Children watch your life. They observe your habits, your prayers, your actions, and your relationship with God. They do not merely hear what you say; they follow what you do.
The Bible teaches us to speak about God’s Word at home, while walking, sitting, working, and throughout every part of life. Parents should share God’s truth with their children. Even through modern communication, parents can encourage their children and remind them of God’s ways.
Teach children humility, obedience, and the truths of God’s Word. A child reflects what is inside the home. When parents walk with God, children learn to walk with God.
4. Parents Must Lead by Example
Parents have a great influence on their children. If parents lie, children notice. If parents do wrong, children observe. Everything they see is recorded in their hearts.
Therefore, let your children see you praying, fasting, and seeking God. They will learn from your example. More is caught than taught.
Parents should spend time with their children. Food, clothing, education, and comfort are important, but the most important gifts are time, love, guidance, and prayer.
Parents have the privilege of blessing their children. The hands that have worked hard, sacrificed, and cared for them have the privilege of praying over them. Place your hands on your children and pray for them. Pray together as a family. Even when children grow older, the foundation built through prayer remains strong.
Our children are truly a treasure. We must guide them carefully, teach them God’s Word through our actions, and lead them on the right path.
5. Protecting Children in a Challenging World
These are challenging days. Be watchful over your children. Their personality, appearance, talents, and every good quality are gifts from God. Do not simply be proud of these blessings; be alert and protect them.
Today, many challenges affect children. Phones, social media, unhealthy influences, and harmful habits create many dangers. Parents must be aware of what their children are watching, learning, and following. Technology can be useful, but it should never replace God’s guidance and family connection.
Parents should know where their children are, who their friends are, and what influences shape their lives. The Bible warns that bad company corrupts good character. Children need protection, discipline, and loving guidance.
Do not leave children without care. Just as birds protect their young, parents must protect the children God has entrusted to them. A family needs order, discipline, and responsibility. Prayer alone is not a substitute for responsible parenting; parents must faithfully fulfill the responsibilities God has given them.
Ask God for wisdom to raise your children. Pray: “Lord, give me wisdom, understanding, strength, and show me the right way. The gift of children is a blessing from You. Help me walk according to Your will.”
6. Never Lose Hope—Trust God for the Harvest
The Bible says in Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go.” Just as a young tree can be bent and shaped, children must be guided while they are young. When they grow older, changing their direction becomes more difficult. Therefore, mothers and fathers must teach, love, discipline, and guide their children.
Even if a child wanders from the right path, parents should never lose hope. Continue praying, continue loving, and continue trusting God. God sees every tear, every prayer, every sacrifice, and every effort made on behalf of children.
The blessing God gives produces a rich harvest. Our children are that harvest. True success is not measured by grades, appearance, wealth, or worldly achievements. What matters most is God’s love, faith, gratitude, service, and a life built upon His Word.
May every family be strengthened by God’s grace, and may our children grow to become a blessing to their families, communities, churches, and the world.
